I have been wanting to get better with ArcMap to help prepare for my career job, so I thought it would be fun to try and make an ethnolinguistic map of of the Iberian peninsula using ArcMap. I have georeferenced a linguistic map of the Iberian peninsula, and now I am working on drawing the shapes corresponding to each region's languages. Unfortunately, I'm not really good at using the drawing function. Is there a way to get the shapes you draw behind the shapefile outlines for the map borders? Also, is it possible to link your drawings with the border shapefiles (as in having them link together and stuff)?
