How can I set up ArcPad to automatically assign pole numbers while collecting data in the field. I would be fine with assigning ObjectID to the pole number and format it such as objectid + 10000 so I end up with a 5 digit number.
I would think ideally that when I create the pole feature class that I can set the default value to be [ObjectID] + 10000 but I cannot get that to work.
I tried aliasing the ObjectID to PoleNum but still shows ObjectID and I cannot have more than 1 Autonumber field.

My client has disregarded the idea of having a model that can be run to automatically populate PoleNum with a query when activated.
