Is there any way of safely cutting a polyline in ArcPad?
The example Cut app that used to ship with ArcPad will cut a line with a two vertex line, however, it does not just cut the polyline it over laps (at the intersection), it also projects the line cut across all other lines in that layer, i.e. the line you intended to cut may be cut in two or more pieces as well as any other line that that is cut by the projected extension of the line cutter (the line cutter line does not have to overlap the line that get cut). If this is not bad enough, it also does not appear to update, the now sliced and diced lines, unique ID so that there is now an ID conflict when the data is imported back into ArcMap, resulting in some of the cut lines to vanish.
Cutting a line in a field mapping tool like ArcPad should be a standard editing tool. Having to remember to do the line cutting when the data is checked back into ArcMap is inconvenient.
Someone must have come up with a good add-on cutting tool for ArcPad.
Any ideas out there??
