Marker Symbols for layers exported from ArcMap don't always show up in ArcPad

Specifically, the symbols I assigned do not consistantly show up in ArcPad on my Trimble GeoXT 3000 (which uses Windows Mobile 6.1 ).

What is strange is that they not only show up in ArcMap, but also appear to show up in ArcPad for Desktop.

It seems that each time I export a layer (using "Get Data for ArcPad" from the ArcPad Data Manager Toolbar) and copy it to the Trimble I can expect a different result. Sometimes all the marker symbols show up, sometimes none, and sometimes only some of them!

This means I have to thoroughly check the Legend in ArcPad for missing Symbols each time, and if any symbols are missing re-generate and re-export until they show up.

The legend still indicates a marker category for my points that are missing the symbols, but the symbol next to the category is simply blank / not present.

Is anyone else experiencing this strange behaviour?
