I have just started publishing maps with ArcPublisher and would like to know if it is possible to add links to the map file displayed in ArcReader?

I am trying to create a map that shows points or polygons and gives the user the option to link to an outside document, - such as in .doc or .pdf format when they identify a place on the map where they would like to get more information.

This would save me from entering loads of attributes!

Thanks for any help,

As long as you have a valid directory path the hyperlinking should work.  You could create a table with all of the hyperlinks and a field to link on, then in ArcMap create a join or relate from the layer to this new table.  After you re-publish the document the hyperlinks will show up in the joined table.

Thanks!  (it works!)

I know that was a kind of basic question!  Still learning about Arc...

Any chance you could post a "how to" doc?
