Esri Community 2021 Q3 Health Metrics:

We are excited to report that during Q3 we welcomed 16,000 new community members which increased our total members to 251,000. It was great to see all the new members come in and get connected in the Member Introduction board in July after User Conference. If you’re new and haven’t posted there yet, we invite you drop in and say “hi!,” and tell us what you’re working on, we’d love to hear from you.

During the third quarter we saw an average of 51,000 member logins each month. Community members submitted 486 ideas across the ArcGIS Ideas Exchanges, and Esri Community received 1.9 million visits, with 64% coming from visitors outside of the United States.

New registrations are still tracking 40% higher yearly when compared 2020 Q3. While we did start out strong with a bump from User Conference in July, we experienced a downturn in overall activity largely due to a seasonal summer slump, however, we saw a significant increase within the community as active members, with 2.4% moving from observers to casual and super users.  Due to the summer slump, overall community engagement decreased, however, we achieved another quarterly increase in time to first response to questions.

For 2021 Q3, across the entire community we had more than 4,500 new questions asked, with 37% marked as Accepted Solutions, and combined 66% answered by Esri staff and community MVPs, which account for 1.32% of the entire community members.  At the individual place level, the top places for Accepted Solutions were:

  1. ArcGIS Survey123 (59%)
  2. Python (51%)
  3. ArcGIS Pro (38%)

Quick tips:

As we head into the final months of the year, we’re looking forward to ending the year strong—and celebrating our first year on the new community platform. Thanks again for your time and contributions. You inspire us with your work every day, and we appreciate your support and dedication!
