I want to import a text file containing XYs to a polygon feature class. Under ArcView 3.x (which I was using until recently) I used the gen2shp extension for this purpose (converts ARC/INFO generate text file to shapefile). I am trying to figure out how to do this in ArcGIS Desktop 10.
Searching help suggests this might be accomplished through the Data Interoperability Toolbox. However when I try to open the Quick Import tool I get an error message "Unable to execute the selected tool."
So I have 2 questions/problems: 1. Suggestions on getting the toolbox to work (a licensing / support issue?) 2. Any other suggestions on an easy to use tool or extension that performs the desired task, i.e. converting XY text file to polygon feature class.
As mentioned I am using ArcGIS Desktop 10 running under 64-bit Windows 7.
