I need to open multiply ascii xyz files in arcGis. What do you think, which way is better; to open them in arcgis by making them first multiponits and then "Point to Raster" OR convert these files in some convert program?I have very large number of files in xyz format. I was trying to use "GridBatch"- tool, but it gives me error message. Is there any other convert tools or is the better way to convert them in ArcGis?If you are making xyz-files to multipoints and then "point to raster",do you have to do it one file by one?
Thx!

ASCII grid files are natively recognised by ArcGIS as rasters.
That's why you can use on them most of raster tools.

If you want to convert multiple ASCII rasters files to another format you can use:
Conversion Tools -> To Raster -> Raster to Other Format (multiple)

If you want to convert and merge multiple ASCII rasters in one step you can use:
Data Management Tools -> Raster -> Raster Dataset -> Mosaic to New Raster
