The kickoff to Esri User Conference is quickly approaching—July 10 will be here before we know it. No matter if it’s your first time or fifteenth time attending, we hope you have an incredible experience and enjoy making connections with GIS users from around the globe. 

Whether you’re packing your bags to join us in San Diego or attending virtually, Esri Training has several ways to connect. Here are a few sessions to add to your schedule: 

In-Person Only Opportunities 

Experiences for All Attendees 

All the sessions below will be available in-person, and three of them will also be available via livestream for virtual attendees. Sessions will be recorded as well.

Getting Started: The ArcGIS System 

  • Tuesday, July 11 | 8:30-9:30 AM PT (Hybrid session)  
  • New ArcGIS users will gain familiarity with use cases for working with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Hub, and other apps in the ArcGIS system to create maps, manage data, share content, perform analysis, and facilitate both internal and external collaboration.

Getting Started: Essential GIS Workflows for Data and Analysis

  • Tuesday, July 11 | 10:00-11:00 AM PT 
  • This session will focus on creating, storing and managing data, data preparation, performing spatial analysis, sharing repeatable analysis workflows, and automating workflows with scripting for new ArcGIS users.

Getting Started: Essential GIS Workflows for Mapping and Field Operations

  • Tuesday, July 11 | 1:00-2:00 PM PT 
  • ArcGIS products offer unique capabilities that support a variety of GIS workflows. This session will focus on creating and sharing maps, displaying and analyzing imagery and 3D features, and look at connected and offline field operations for new ArcGIS users.

Getting Started: Editing Workflows

  • Wednesday, July 12 | 4:00-5:00 PM PT  
  • In this session, beginners will learn how to edit their data in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro. We will explore types of editable data sources and basic editing techniques for creating and updating features and attributes using Map Viewer and working with feature templates in ArcGIS Pro.

ArcGIS Pro: An Introduction  

  • Tuesday, July 11 | 10:00-11:00 AM PT (Hybrid session) 
  • Thursday, July 13 | 8:30-9:30 AM PT 
  • Are you new to GIS or to ArcGIS desktop software? In this workshop we will learn the fundamentals of how to get started with ArcGIS Pro. No prior experience required. Learn about how to create maps and layouts, edit your data and perform analysis using ArcGIS Pro.

ArcGIS Pro: Migrating from ArcMap 

  • Tuesday, July 11 | 8:30-9:30 AM PT (Hybrid session) 
  • Thursday, July 13 | 1:00-2:00 PM PT 
  • Are you an ArcMap user? This is the workshop for ArcMap users to learn about strategies to help them prepare for migration to ArcGIS Pro, identify and prioritize the migration of key workflows, and spend some time exploring the ArcGIS Pro interface.

Getting Started with Arcade

  • Tuesday, July 11 | 4:00-5:00 PM PDT 
  • Introducing Arcade - a portable expression language you can use across ArcGIS. Arcade provides a rich library of functions for creating custom visualizations, labels, pop-ups, and field calculations. In this session we will investigate what Arcade is -and what it isn’t - why it was created, and how you can get started putting Arcade to use in your own projects.
