interpolation (point to raster): how to get unique values and not categories

Trying to build raster surfaces with values from vector point-data. Both spline and idw always returns intervals of values, but I want unique cell values. Have tried with both short integer and floating point values. Point values are integers from -273 to 200.

Any suggestions are most welcome.

each cell has a value, don't confuse the symbology with the underlying data
