Noticed a file titled status.cache in all the Asynchronous Geoprocessing (GP) service folders inside arcgisjobs folder.

  1. What is the use of status.cache file?
  2. How to interpret status.cache file?
  3. Is there a way we can configure GP service not to read/write from/to that file?

Problem we are facing is, for the same Asynchronous GP service, in few jobs, noticed the below entries in their logs...

  • Populating cache for gpserver:<FolderName>/<GPServiceName>
  • Populating cache for gpserver:<FolderName>/<GPServiceName>/Service
  • Cache PUT: gpserver:<FolderName>/<GPServiceName>/Service

For those jobs having above log entries, response for /submitJob request is taking more than 90 seconds. Rest of the job's /submitJob response is less than 1 second only. Jobs slowness rate is 1 in 10 (Slow response for 1 job in every 10 jobs as an average).

Issue persist even after disabling the antivirus on file share (arcgisjobs folder).

We suspect that status.cache is playing some crucial role in the slowness of Asynchronous GP jobs.

Experts advise please.

Thank you.
