Brief Description
Under direction, develops, manages, and audits daily ArcGIS Enterprise functionality. Responsibilities include development and management of software tools using ArcGIS Enterprise & Portal, SQL Server, and related applications. Works closely with IT Department to develop and maintain mapping and data services for internal and external users. This position is also responsible for assisting with coordination, development, implementation, operation, maintenance, and training for GIS workflows and Best Practices. This position will provide GIS expertise, support, assistance, and guidance to organizational staff and external contacts. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting and monitoring backend functionality of SCE’s Enterprise GIS—as such, on-call weekend and after-hours server administration work may be required to support field operations and 24/7 data access.
Examples of duties
• Coordinate and manage the ArcGIS Enterprise system and associated applications.
• Test, deploy and upgrade software, templates, and related tools.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve GIS application problems including network connectivity.
• Design and maintain SQL and ArcGIS databases, including versioning.
• Develop software code and scripts for automating data processing and QA/QC.
• Design and implement mobile apps, web maps, and dashboards for field data collection and desktop review.
• Convert data and edit geodatabases to support client projects.
• Evaluate, design, implement, and document Best Practices for specific work tasks.
• Assist end users with technical issues and training needs, including field and office equipment and applications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience within GIS or IT.
• One-year of ArcGIS Enterprise administration experience.
• One-year of SQL database management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
