Hello,

I am using ArcMap 10.2.1.

I am learning about the concepts behind aerial imagery.  I understand the Instantaneous Field of View is the cone seen by the optics on the satellite.  I have read that the resolution cell is a function of the angle of cone times the altitude height of the optics.  But I find it confusing when the cone contains many resolution cells.  So I have to ask; does the cone have a minimum angular spread that generates the maximum spatial resolution of 1 resolution cell and a maximum angular spread that generates the minimum spatial resolution of many resolution cells?

move to imagery and Remote Sensing

and in the context of GIS ... it doesn't matter
