Adobe Photoshop ™ - "Dust & Scratches" Filter
Photoshop users can utilize the "Dust & Scratches" filter. This generally works best on small areas of a Landsat scene, and is quick and easy to use.
- Open Photoshop.
- Open three band.tif files.
- Select the Channels tab and click the small round arrow.
- Select Merge Channels
- Select RGB Color in the "Merge Channels" box. Click OK
- In the "Merge RBG Channels" box, select the channels in RGB order (for instance: 7, 5 3). Click OK
- The channels are merged into an RGB image.
- Navigate to your particular area of interest on the image
- Select Filter -> Noise -> Dust & Scratches
- Within in the "Dust & Scratches" box, make sure the Preview box is checked.
- As the Radius and Threshold levels are moved up and down, the image changes
- Continue until the desired 'filled' image is created.
- Save the image.
