The select widget is very complicated for most of our users, too many clicks and often the select by attribute confuses non-GIS users.

Hi @HellenSimpson is this for external users? There is an option to disable the Select by Attribute feature on specific maps (or all maps if you do it for each one). This just leaves the standard select options available. You just need to uncheck the tick box. Would this help take away some confusion for some end users?
