How often are web maps updated?

I noticed the community maps are using 2010 data. I also noticed in the "about this map" link, it says the data is updated once yearly.

We recommend that participants update their maps at least yearly, but updates can be submitted on a quarterly basis. If you have any questions, please contact us at communitymaps@esri.com.
