Help with my exam

trying to layer my map of neversink and roundout reservoirs and no clue on how to do so or create a layer. YouTube videos aren't helping, they show older versions on the program that I don't recognize. Trying to do this for my final exam, any ideas are welcome

the program is driving me nuts. having issue with the licensing and
getting it to register and making it all work. downloaded everything and
now nothing is working, my project is due Monday morning and I'm going to
fail because nothing is working..... any ideas or is this a lost cause?
