Where could I find a shapefile of London green spaces?

There is a file on arcgis online but it's no good as I need each polygon as a separate feature. I wouldn't have thought it would be so difficult to find but a friend of mine needs it for her dissertation and is really struggling.

Thanks, for any help or suggestions

Ellen,

Can you post a link to the green space you found.

There might be a way to export the data and then create individual polygons from it.

Hi,

Thanks for replying but we just managed to solve the problem, we acquired the data about 10 minutes ago in the format we need.

Thanks again though

do you mean the source is

  • an image?
  • a multipart feature and you want the features separated like the multiparttosinglepat tool?
  • or something completely different?

never mlind...problem solved

Hey,

Sorry I wouldn't have been able to tell you anyway. My friend found it and I never saw it so I have no clue

For future reference, OpenStreetMap Data Extracts by Geofabrik can be a useful site. They have shapefiles of buildings, landuse, natural areas (parks/open spaces), and other feature types that are updated daily. It's free and open source. You can browse to continent > country > region > subregion.
