ArcGIS Online Parcel Viewer Application help page

This is Pete, I posted about a way to configure the help page to load as the ArcGIS Online Parcel Viewer Application launches. I have downloaded the template and looked at the files but I am at a loss as to how to proceed. I was also wondering if there is a way to configure the application so that there is a search sidebar like in the original Tax Parcel Viewer application?

For configuration background and info, please see this Getting Started addition to the app's GitHub repository.  It attempts to answer your question about what to do with a downloaded copy of the app.

For creating a sidebar, here's a summary from that document:
In the apps1/ParcelViewer.json file, look for where a "js.LGSearchBoxByText" item is created (approximately line 275).

1. In the "styles" section, delete the text "max-height:224px;"


2. In the "config" section, change "-2" following "horizOffset" to "2" (without the quotes)
