Delete Historical Parcels in the Attribute Table

Hello, I am trying to clean up the data in my parcel fabric.
The parcels are already marked as historical.
I can only find them in the parcel fabric's attribute table.
I cannot find them on the parcel explorer.
and when I try to delete them in the attribute table, the delete option is grayed.
I tried to edit the historical field, but that's grayed too.

I will take a stab at this although we're still in our 'R&D' phase...what if you were to select those historical parcels, unjoin them and then through the explorer, delete them?
Maybe that will work.

There have been a lot of upgrades since 10.0 so depending on which version you're using, your specific workflow may not be supported.  If using 10.1 sp1, select the historical parcels (History = 1), hover over your data frame with the parcel editor tool and then right-click and "delete" should be enabled.  Historical parcels will only show up in the parcel explorer if they are selected or unjoined.
