How do I become a member of the Developers AGO?

Della, to participate in T3G2017, in Prerequisite#5, we asked you to go to http://developers.arcgis.com and create your own "Developers account", which is free. This is a 1-user Org for you alone, to use as a little sandbox in which to practice, explore, create, with 50 credits per month, for free. That should have been part of your application. If you are not sure if you did it or not, go to http://www.arcgis.com/home/troubleshoot.html and provide the email address(es) you use for such things.

Charlie,

I did sign up per #5 requirement way back when; however, after reading your email about "...maps.arcgis.com" = an AGO, I thought that I wasn't actually in a Developers Organization.  So, I went to developers.maps.arcgis.com and could not sign-in.

I navigate to the above from  http://developers.arcgis.com, and I have no difficulty signing in.  By your definition, it isn't a Developers AGO.

I'm sure things will clear up for me tomorrow.

Thank you.   Della

You don't "have a sign in to developers.arcgis.com or developers.maps.arcgis.com" -- You use developers.arcgis.com to create your own personal Org, e.g. "della.maps.arcgis.com". Ignore any appearance of being able to be signed in at developers.arcgis.com ... it is not an Org, and it recognizes anyone visiting while being signed in to {{anywhere including just www}}.arcgis.com.

If you're not sure of your username, do this:
  • Go to https://www.arcgis.com/home/troubleshoot.html and enter your email address (you should do this with each email address you might have used). Within a minute, the system will email back to that address a list of all ArcGIS Online usernames attached to that email, whether 1 or 100. If the email doesn't show in 5 minutes, check your spam filters, where it could have been caught. If there's clearly no email and nothing in spam filters (you may have district and school filters as well as personal ones), it's good to try it a second time.
If you know your login, but a login/password combo doesn't work, it's likely because the password (which is case sensitive and must be exact) may have been mis-typed, or mis-remembered, or mis-entered originally … I've done all three! So, if it didn't work, here's what you do:
  • Go to https://www.arcgis.com/home/troubleshoot.html and enter your username and request a password reset. Within 5 minutes (sometimes within 1 minute) an email will go to your email address with a link.
  • If the email with the link arrives, you must access that email and click on that link, which will force you to type in --twice-- a new password (which must be at least 8 alphanumeric characters with at least 1 letter and at least 1 number).
