Hi

I am trialing ArcGIS Pro / Desktop as part of the 60-day trial and have downloaded PRO 10.31 DESKTOP

I want to test the Backhaul Optimisation application within ArcGIS to test replacing Microwave Links with Fibre backhaul.

Questions -

Where is BackhaulOptimisation.mxd?

How do I activate the Network Analyst Extension?

Do I need the licensed paid version of the Network Analyst Extension to make the Backhaul Optimisation work?

Where do I download Network Analyst Extension from?

Thanks / David

I don't know if the trial versions come with all the extensions...but if they do, you probably have them installed.  To toggle on an extension, you need to go to the Customize/Extensions menu and toggle on the Network Analyst.  As for the project (aka *.mxd) no clue, if it is a tutorial you might find some reference to it here

general help for NA is found here

Hi - when I believe a question is answered how do I put a green tick beside

the thread? To me its not clear and I do not use threaded forums routinely

enough to know the correct thing.

David,

You can download the backhaul model and learn about the requirements here.

And you can get started setting about network analyst by following this guide:

Hi. It does not say whether it works with Street map OSM.

No it does not, but it will work with the street data & maps that are included with an ArcGIS for Desktop subscription.
