A small group of exercise players will be testing out the GeoNet platform as a method for the Geospatial Community supporting disaster response to communicate, ask questions, and share resources.

Initial (Modest) Goals for using GeoNet during shaken fury 2019:

  • Test out a centralized location for communicating that can be used during blue and grey skies
  • Become familiar with capabilities within GeoNet to inform the configuration of the US Disasters GeoNet Community
  • Begin the development of best practices, informed both by lessons learned from the exercise and via research into other mature communities.

So, sign in, make a comment on what you are doing, ask a question, ask for help, post a resource, add an event...

Tari,

Thanks for setting up the group, I would like to help out.  Can you point in the right direction to where I can find and promote the content and concepts y'all are working on.

Thanks

Thanks Jeff! First and foremost, we hope folks will test out the community and make recommendations for improvement. Many may be busy with the exercise (or real-world events) but hoping some will have time to share what they are working on there. Feel free to add anything from the CUSEC perspective. At the moment, it is very federal heavy but to be successful will need the whole community to participate.

Thanks!

Enhancing public safety through the power of geospatial technology and data

Seems like a great idea to test out during Shaken Fury!

From the CUSEC side of things, the Shaken Fury Hub site is being used to provide a curated, central place to access information products related to the exercise.

As of now, this site contains simulated power outage data (from DOE), GasBuddy status, SABER private Sector data, information from Safety Assessment teams, as well as linkages to all of the information shared by FEMA and CUSEC states. Note: Some of the content is publicly accessible, other content requires an ArcGIS Online User account and membership in the CUSEC Shaken Fury Group. You can request access here if you don't already have it.

CUSEC (and DHS S&T who I'm supporting) is very interested in getting input from the community on how the Shaken Fury Hub, and the various information products contained within, work for folks.  Please provide feedback in this theme, or by submitting feedback through this simple S123 form.

Thanks!
