Maps of Office Crashes upon startup

We are evaluating ESRI Maps for Office Add Inn

Unfortunatey the Add-Inn is crashing within Microsoft Excel 2010. As soon as you goto the Esri Maps menu, the Add-Inn crashes and then closes Microsoft Excel (see screenshots)

We are running with version 1.1 of the ESRI Maps for Office Add-Inn on Windows XP SP3.

We suspect that our network firewall is blocking something external that ESRI Maps for Office Add Inn is trying to connect to, but we are not quite sure what. Would someone be able to provide us with list of external IP address/ports that the Add Inn needs access to? We have tested the application when connected to another WIFI connection and the Add-Inn work.

Through our network we have full internet access to most website.

Hi David,

Esri Maps for Office is really only accessing ArcGIS.com, so I wouldn't think that should cause a problem. You can try using Fiddler (download here) or another web debugger to see the urls it is accessing. That might give more information.

Otherwise, can you tell us more about the setup/scenario? When you tested while connected to another WiFi was it the same computer and setup? Do you have only Office 2010 installed or do you have other versions?
