We are looking at migrating our various 2005 2008 SQL Server Databases to one Server containing SQL Server 2014. I note that 2014 is not on the supported DB list for 10.2, although we have briefly tested connectivity and loading/editing of spatial data seeming to work ok.

Anyone know if there could be any serious issues with Enterprise Geodatabase or ArcGIS Server functionality, and when is SQL Server 2014 likely to be supported?

Thanks

Terry

Hi Terry,

You are correct that support for SQL Server 2014 is not available at 10.2.x releases.

Support for SQL 2014 starts with the 10.3 release: SQL Server 2014 for ArcGIS 10.3

As for any serious issues using SQL Server 2014 with ArcGIS 10.2.x or ArcGIS Server there may be some unintended issues that are not documented and may pop up out of the blue and be difficult to resolve, if the environment is not supported. I would recommend waiting to 10.3 final is released before upgrading fully to SQL Server 2014.

Hope this helps....

Unfortunatly there's no mention of MS SQL Server 2014 in the System Rquirements which you linked.

Torbjørn Dalløkken That link was again modified on 3/11/2015, which is after my post and SQL Server 2014 was removed from the list. I don't have a reason as to why it was removed as of now. However, will surely post back here when I have an update.

That would be great. Thank you.

Torbjørn Dalløkken I just received an update. It appears to be a glitch with the System Requirements webpage. SQL Server 2014 is still very much supported with ArcGIS 10.2.1 and 10.2.2.
