I have successfully uploaded a one to many dataset (file geodb with city point feature layer, look-up table with multiple tree inventories per city, and a relationship class). I can access the related attributes in the Web Map window by clicking on a point and then clicking on on "Show Related Records" in the popup.

However, The "Show Related Records" link or table did not show up in any of the app templates I have tested (Basic Viewer, Information Lookup, Panel, and WebApp Builder apps). Only statistical summaries showed up in the popup which are not what I need. Two questions:

  1. How can I make related records (table) for a point show up in any of the web app templates (preferable the WebApp Builder - it's slick!)?
  2. How can I make the related records table open automatically when clicking on a point?

Hi Wolfgang,

This currently isn't a feature in the Web AppBuilder nor the hosted Application templates. As this is something that you would like to see in the software, please support the following idea on the ideas page ArcGIS Idea - Support Related Records in AGOL & Web App Builder

Are my needs too esoteric to elicit responses or am I spoiled by stackoverflow and similar support forums?

Seriously, should I just bite the bullet and submit a formal tech support request?

Hi Kelly, was this feature ever implemented ? I'm trying to publish my web map out to one of the configurable online templates and none of them display the Show Related Records link in the popup.

Cheers

Hi,

My question is similar but more to do with the api and why things are.  When using the Search Widget, with the option to display the popup automatically when the feature is selected from the results, there isn't a 'View Related Records' hyperlink in the popup.  However, when I click on the feature in the map the original popup is returned with the hyperlink.

The popup for a layer in a web map is saved in the web map, so why would the Search Widget return a version of the popup that is different than the original?

Thanks,

Hi Kelly,

I realize this is a very old post, but I still find myself wondering if it will ever be possible to view related records directly in a pop-up (instead of having to open the table). I think there are many cases where people are using Collector for inspections of one sort or another. Generally this is a one-to-many, and each related record may have a photo attachment to represent conditions at the time of inspection. It would be great for these related photo attachments to show up as thumbnails directly in the pop-up for an enhanced user experience.

Also, is there any intention of making related records an option in a Story Map Journal pop-up? I am currently building a proof of concept application, and my process has slowed to a halt as I try to figure out how to get around this issue.

I feel (and there are many instances of others similar complaints on the Ideas forum) as if related records are great for Collector, but then your data is kind of stuck there and not super functional in any other aspect of ArcGIS Online.

Thanks,
Erica

FYI: Here is a thread where Kelly provided sample JavaScript code for a custom one to many web app: AGOL: custom app template with one-to-many relate lookup/table?

Support for related tables has now been added in the March update of Web AppBuilder. Some of the analysis tools even provide results with related tables, with the data available for charts etc in the pop up window - it's pretty cool...
