One of our departments has a GPS device with a wired USB connection.  They were wondering if when the GPS device is connected to their laptop, will it be possible to have an ArcGIS Online web map use the GPS device's location in order to locate a feature?

Has anyone tried this before with success?...is this even possible?

Thanks in advance!

Matthew, were you able to find an answer to this question? I am still waiting 4 years later.

Hi Matthew and Raul,

This workflow is not supported. However, you can use Collector for ArcGIS on a mobile device, connected to a GPS device, that will enable you to collect features with the GPS location. And technically, Collector would be using a web map from ArcGIS Online.

Hope this helps,
