Please indicate (Y or N) if you would like to see indoor routing and navigation added to ArcGIS platform technologies?  Specific feedback on how you would use this capability is a bonus.  Thanks!

YES!

Based on my experience, the problem is not the network dataset to calculate the routes, it is the UI being able to understand the elevation/floor and filter the reference data appropriately.  It is the same issue that any indoor mapping has.  Solve that and a whole new world of possibilities opens up. Oh, and brute force hard coding floor data and such isn't scalable... Something data driven is the golden ticket.

Just my $0.02

John,

Answer =(Y)

Adding indoor routing to ArcGIS with BISDM and CityEngine tied to Location-Based Services would be amazing. Opening up the ability to identify / analyze the movement and location of personnel, equipment and goods.

Cheers,

Mitch

Yes, definitely.  I would like to see something similar to BIM technology to go along with it.
