Hi there,

I've just installed Windows Mobile 10.2.1. on my PC, but can't find the toolbox'es??

I have ArcGIS 10.3.1. (the toolbox should support 10.3) and it's on a Windows 10.

Any suggestions where the toolbox is hidden or why it's missing?

Hi

Firstly, did you select the option for the Geoprocessing tools during the installation of ArcGIS Mobile?

Secondly, from recollection I think you also need to right-click on the root ArcToolbox and choose "Add toolbox", then navigate to Toolboxes > System Toolboxes, select the Mobile Tools and click Open. The toolbox should then appear in ArcToolbox.

See the following:

http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/install-guides/arcgis-mobile/10.2/index.html#/Installing_ArcGIS_...

You should be able to fix this through Control Panel > Programs and Features > Uninstall/Change > Modify - then ensure you have selected the Geoprocessing Tools:

I suspect that the installer is checking for ArcGIS v10.2 and not finding it (as you have 10.3.1), so not presenting the option for the Geoprocessing tools.

There may be a way to fool it into thinking 10.2 desktop is installed, perhaps through a setting a registry key, but I'm not sure which one.

The other thing you could try is installing on a machine with 10.2 then copying the toolbox and any supporting files from the install directory to the 10.3.1 machine.

It's probably one for support.

I tried it on an ArcGIS 10.2.2. and there I get the correct installer, so YES it must be a case for ESRI Support as it should support 10.3. as well.

Will it be possible just to copy it from a 10.2.2. ?

The copying from 10.2. to a 10.3 did not work 😞

If the Mobile GP Tools do not appear in ArcToolbox, you will need to add the missing toolbox (in ArcMap or ArcCatalog) by opening ArcToolbox and right-click in the white space and go to Add Toolbox. In the Add Toolbox dialog window, navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\Mobile10.2.1\ArcToolbox\Toolboxesand select Mobile Tools.tbx, click Open and the Mobile Tools will display in the list of toolboxes. Next, right-click in the white space and go to Save Settings > To Default and the Mobile GP Tools will be included when opening ArcToolbox until you change the Default configuration. I'm including a short video to show this process.

If you are unable to add missing toolbox following these steps, please submit an Esri Support Case, http://support.esri.com/request-case so we can continue to help troubleshoot the issue with you.

Cheers,

Denise
