Archived conference proceedings?

A colleague of mine is looking for a paper from the 2001 User Conference Proceedings.  Does anyone know a place to find archived proceedings from the past?  I've tried searching GeoNet and the Esri web sites and Google, but haven't come up with anything.

Was that back far enough that they still gave out a three ring binder?  Maybe not.  Do you know the author or the type of session?  That might help in someone tracking it down.

This isn't the UC proceedings, but I found this with a web search

that looks like maybe the actual paper Citation...but there is a link to download (I didn't try it since I don't need the doc.)
