Hi,

I'm looking around to find if there is a geoprocessing model for water network isolation trace that could be deployed on web.

I know there is the Utility network trace available Utility Isolation Trace | ArcGIS for Utilities

but i dont think that this tool take into account inoperable valves and unlooped mains, it just finds the first connected valve.

any help will be appreciate

thanks

Any replies about the isolation valve trace?

The current isolation web tool is useless for water utilities because it does not give the actual valves to close and does not select (dry up) all the valves and water meters that  are dried (that are in the brances that are not connected to water sources.

Any plans to improve this tool in the near future?

Thanks

Rafi

We are limited by capabilities of the gp trace tools, so we will not be over to overcome these challenges. We are working on an update to our desktop trace that will return a result set and utilizing ArcRest, push that to a feature service. I put a sample video here.

Thanks Michael,

This won't work for us because we need the functionality in the field 24/7.

Our field crew needs to do the isolation trace via the web in the field in order to close optimally the valves in a timely manner.

This is a need of ALL water utilities companies.

I would expect ESRI, as part as their water utilities apps promotion, to publish such a necessary tool, at least for their ArcGIS server/portal licensed users.

Any chance this will happen in the near future?

Thanks

Yes, as part of the work we are doing with utility network, the isolation trace capabilities will be available across the entire platform.

Just to understand clearly.

there will be a web application that will provide the correct functionality of isolation valve trace (including unlooped valves, meters, etc..)?

if yes, when is this expected? will it be part of the 10.4 release? sooner?

i don't want to develop an SOE and a wep application if you are going to publish it soon.

Thanks

These capabilities will be initially part of ArcGIS Pro and eventually will be available across the platform where widgets, apps etc will be able to access them. We will be able to share more details in the coming months.

Hi Michael,

Is there an update or ETA on this functionality?

Thanks,

Simon

It wont be soon enough. This is a real problem for our Utility Division and I appreciate
ESRI working towards a resolution.

What about a solution for working disconnected and being able to run the trace?  This needs to be a priority as most small utilities do not have connectivity to web services.  Please come up with a solution where the trace geoprocessing tool is download when the map is downloaded via Collector for ArcGIS.  This is a perfect platform for allowing field users to run geoprocesses locally on their mobile devices and not be limited to internet connectivity.
