Quartz and Appstudio

What is the pathway for AppStudio with regards the release (beta or otherwise) of Quartz?

I saw a post in the Qt space indicating a beta for Qt around June. Will AppStudio release an update at the same time? If so and it is a beta, will it be able to be installed alongside existing version or should we expect to deploy to a dev machine while in beta?

Once installed, will projects created using the existing runtime version still open and work with no changes, or, once AppStudio is upgraded, will we need to refactor code before it will compile and run.

Am trying to plan ahead and anticipate any possible issues.

Thanks,

-Paul

Quartz will be rolled into the next AppStudio release after it is released (not beta) in the Qt SDK.

Regarding backward compatibility, a final decision on whether you will need a side by side install, or whether AppStudio's quartz release will support the current version of the Runtime as well, has not been made. But either way there will be a mechanism for backward compatibility.

Hi Marika

Just a follow up to this post... I see a lot of communication out there now around Quartz aka ArcGIS Runtime SDK 100.0 being available, but haven't come across any updates indicating where AppStudio is at right now regarding this.

Can you give us a quick update please?

Cheers,

-Paul

Hi Paul

Ah timing... AppStudio 1.3 is about to be released and although strictly speaking is 'the next AppStudio release after the Qt SDK Quartz release' (by only a couple of weeks), Quartz will not be included in AppStudio 1.3. We will be working on Quartz integration for the subsequent release.
