I'm having a trouble downloading open data datasets that are filtered on a coded value domain field.  Anyone else having this problem?

Here are 2 example datasets with coded value domain fields:

This is on our end. I believe it's related to a known issue that we are testing a fix for. I will update you with progress.

Bill, I had no problems downloading to a spreadsheet or to a shapefile. I was able to open the shapefile, and although I don't know what the data/table should be exactly, it look like it brought all the info over.

edit: using Firefox 45.0.1

Rebecca.  Downloading the full dataset work fine for me. It is downloading the filtered dataset that I am having problems with. I get an error for both the spreadsheet and the shapefile.

It appears to be browser independent for me.

Filtering, if I am doing it correctly, seemed to work for me too.

Interesting. I’ll have to try it at home and see if I get the same response. Thanks for testing!

ya, might be a firewall/network issue.  I know we were having issues in-house vs outside a few months ago. We were able to resolve that, but that was the last time I messed with it (need to get back into it).  But if you still have issues, I can did up my notes.  I remember the test I had to do was to make sure I was able to query the thru the /.../rest/services page.  Once we had that working properly, bot in-house and outside, things seems to work better.

Rachel, are you sure you're downloaded records are actually filtered?  When I do a filter of a downloaded dataset, the download results indicate that the dataset is filtered.  I didn't see that indicator in your screenshot.

I saw the same behavior at home, so I don't think it is a firewall issue.  In fact, when I look in the Open Data Data manager tab, I see that the download failed on the ESRI side, so I don't think it has to do with browser or firewall settings.

Hi Bill,

It looks like a problem with the Service throwing a 500 error. Did you check your ArcGIS Server logs for additional error information?

Cheers,

Andrew

The service is hosted on AGOL so I can't access the log.
