Is a copy of the whole ArcGIS Runtime loaded into memory, each time I open a map?

Hello,

we implemented a Java Swing-Application with several frames, some of witch can host a JMap. Every time I open a frame with a JMap on it, the used memory of the Windows process (not the Java Heap) increases by 300 - 600 MByte (depending on the data displayed on the GraphicLayers of the map).

What causes this high increase of used memory? Is a copy of the whole ArcGIS Runtime loaded into memory, each time I open a map? And if so, is it possible to use just one instance of the ArcGis Runtime for all maps in order to save memory?

Kind regards
