Initially had problems logging in, but overcame them using a slightly different entry point to Workforce. Now that i am within Workforce, i am unable to assign any assignments as my workers are not visible.

Hi Colin, thanks for posting your question.

I'm assuming your problem logging in is because your Organization is set to use https but you were using the http protocol.  Workforce supports https at 1.1 and therefore if your Organization is enabled for https support you will need to use that over http.

With regards to not seeing any of your workers; we have gotten a report related to this.  Do you have any Workers in your project that are pointing to named users who have been removed from the Organization?

Hi Craig,

I am happy to see that there are other users that encountered this issue within Workforce. Last week (and today) we encountered the same issue as described by Colin. It seemed to be the problem that we deleted a named user from the Organization while there were (not completed) assignments assigned to this user. Re-adding this named user solved the issue, but in the end, this is not the solution. We want to delete and replace this named user by another named user. We've tried to reassign the assignments of the named user to another worker, and then delete this account but that did not work as well. Workforce 'crashes' and will not show your workers anymore and you are not able to assign any assignment to them.

Can you please provide me a solution for this problem? How can I deactivate a worker in my Workforce project and delete this worker from my Organization as named user without 'crashing' my Workforce project?

Thank you.

Hello Cecile,

If I understand your issue correctly; you have a named user in your project that has assignments assigned to them. These assignments have not been started (not completed). You need to remove this named user from the project and delete the named user from your organization.

We have a Tip in our doc that covers most of what you need to do:

Tips for project owners—Workforce for ArcGIS | ArcGIS

Once you've re-assigned all the work assignments assigned to the named user you want to remove; the Remove/Delete command should become enabled on the Users tab in the configuration page for your project.  You can now safely remove the named user from the Project.

If you're unable to use these steps; please let me know what you're seeing so I can look into it further.

thanks,

Craig

Hi Craig,

Thank you for your answer. The issue you describe is correct. I've tried the steps that you and the document describe, but it did not work. Re-assigning the assignments of the person that I want to delete does not result in an enabled Remove/Delete command, the status behind this person is still Active. In other words, I am not able to delete the worker from the project while this worker has 0 assignments.

Waiting for your reaction,

Cecile

Hi Cecile.

Ok, I'm guessing the issue is that the worker you want to remove still has assignments associated with them; in another state; such as Completed or Declined.

Here's what I suggest; it will require some work in ArcGIS Online:

  • Open the Workers web map in ArcGIS Online
  • Open the Workers layer and find the record for the named user you removed and copy/write down the ObjectID of the record
  • Apply a filter on the assignments layer where WorkerID = the ObjectID you copied in the previous step. This will indicate if the Worker is associated with any assignments
  • You'll need to change the WorkerID to another worker; depending on the number of assignments; you can either do this manually or use the Calculator.

If this doesn't work or you have questions on it; please let me know.

We are working on a better solution to handle workers that need to be removed from the project who are still associated with assignments.

We released an update to Workforce earlier this week which contained a fix for this issue.

If anyone is still seeing an issue, please contact me.

Hi Colin,

I had this problem this morning as well. It seemed to resolve itself after I went in and remove/readded a user in the Project configuration.
