Is there a way to have field guys edit only the attributes of features using collector? The issue we are having is that our guys are using collector to track places they have been for leak detection. So, all we need to have them do is select the waterline, valve, etc and change attribute to yes, no, maybe, is leak urgent, etc. which is turn will change the color of the feature. However, in collector it is easy to accidentally move the valve or line. is it possible to lock down their editing rights, or whatever to be able to only edit attributes and not be able to move the geometry of the features. Thanks.

Hi Erik,

You could use 'Create View' to create a new 'view' of the original layer. The workflow described by Christopher can be used on this 'view' and the field workers would edit this layer. This still allows the original layer to have new features added/geometry changed for other users in your organisation. Any edits to the data are wrote to both layers/views so both are up to date.

You can do it at the Feature Service level.  This thread https://community.esri.com/thread/183374-disable-geometry-edits-in-collector should cover what you need.
