“make feature layer” tool fails to display the layer when run in a model with data sourced from ENTERPRISE geodatabase,

Despite the fact that the “make feature layer” tool manages to display the layer when run in a model with data sourced from FILE geodatabase, it fails to do so when the model is associated with data stored in Enterprise geodatabase.

What might be the issue here?
