Do you have any more details? ie procedure to split the features? All features of this type? Only a particular feature? etc

 Hey Dan,

Thanks for ur perusal to my query.

I am using the tool from the ArcToolbox. I m splitting Distribution Pipe at point feature. All points are snapped to the Distribution Pipe.

Procedure:

Input Feaures as Distribution Pipe.

Point Feature as Non-Controllable Device

Output feature class: Saved it in the same dataset with a different name.

I am unsure of any other details I could share with you that will help you to resolve the same.

Thanks,

Vaibhav

In what way doesn't it work? Tool greyed out, throws an error?

What sort of db are you using - enterprise, fgdb....

Arc version?

If its an enterprise db, is the data versioned?

I meant that output is not as per it suppose to be.

After I ran the tool, the result is like lines get split at wherever it find the intersection, I mean it splits at each junction.

The database I use is FGDB. ArcGIS 10.2.1

I hope I have answered all your questions.

Split involving one layer will split where line nodes/vertices exist

split with points (Pro shown... ArcMap is the same) split a polyline using a point layer

If it was the latter, did you specify a search radius for the latter option

If it was neither, what were you using?

I used Split with points tool.

I did not mention any radius because the point feature layer is snapped to the Line feature layer.

Thanks,

Vaibhav

I know what you indicated, I want to see if the snapping is working... perhaps post an image showing where things aren't being split as expected.  Also, everything is the same coordinate system right?  I am not sure if snap to features quietly fails if there is nothing to snap to in that instance.
