I have searched for that I thought would be a simple question. I would like to set a map I have created to open by default when I log in. Can't find the answer / steps anywhere. Thanks for any help.

Since you posted your question on Mapping and Charting space, we need to know what product are you using (ArcMap/ ArcGIS Pro/ ArcGIS Online)?

Options would be limited but you could try to Configure Map Viewer - ArcGIS Online, if you have administrative rights.
