I quoted this sentences from ArgGIS 10.5  Help :

``Introduction to editing

ArcGIS allows you to create and edit several kinds of data. You can edit feature data stored in shapefiles and geodatabases, as well as various tabular formats. This includes points, lines, polygons, text (annotations and dimensions), multipatches, and multipoints. You can also edit shared edges and coincident geometry using topologies and geometric networks.´´

And to add to Dan's link, in the context of what you are reading, it is in the paragraph you quoted...

This includes points, lines, polygons, text (annotations and dimensions), multipatches, and multipoints.

Another good site wiki.gis.com       Edit: looks like that site is getting really out of date and I would be cautious on clicking any of the external links unless you know they are good  (in case they are phishing or spam).   If anyone knows better, they can correct me
