ArcPad builds the REST API URL from the server address. So, in your case you should try http://gis:6080/

You may want to mention what version of ArcPad and Server you are using.  I still use 7.1.1 and don't get my data from a service, so can be much help there.  I did find this thread https://community.esri.com/thread/47787  that might be of some help.

ArcPad is still a great product and in my opinion there is no true replacement for complicated field collection.  Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like there are many users on geonet yet.  This will give it a bounce so maybe more will see it. With the UC last week, many were out.

Its been difficult to get any kind of response. I saw a post of since 2014 and no one responded even to this date lol.. So i'm just here hoping I get a response. By the way i'm using ArcPad 10.2 along with Server 10.5

You may want to try Moving Content‌ to the ArcPad  space for more exposure (that just tagged it)

I'll also tag Enterprise GIS‌ and MVertzonis-esristaff

Instead of trying to reach a specific service, try to connect to the GIS Server and allow the services to be listed, then choose the one you want.

Use this URL (I *think* ArcPad uses SOAP instead of REST, so you'd omit the REST directory from the context):

http://gis:6080/arcgis/services

if not, try REST:

http://gis:6080/arcigis/rest/services

Hey Randall.

Thanks so much for your reply! Replies have been hard coming!

So when I tried the "Soap" format which you suggested first of I get an error message saying " error 404 no services found"  then when I try the "Rest"format I get an error message saying " Invalid URL" . On the other hand, when I try the REST URL in the web browser I can see the services that are available.

see below.

please help! I need to get this sorted out ASAP ......

Thanks in Advance!

Gideon
