Hotspot analysis

I want to do Hotspot analysis for crash data, How should I define the threshold distance?

hot-spot-analysis.... there is a discussion link within there as well.  This is for Pro since you didn't specify software version.. arcmap has a similar link with the same information

Ori... perhaps you can summarize.  The average user on GeoNet will have to buy the article unless they are an academic and their institution has access to Science Direct through an institutional license agreement.  I don't suppose you have anything published along the same lines in an open access journal?
