select by location

In ArcGIS Desktop there is a search for "select by location" where you select a shape with some criteria.
I'd like to make a selection that makes intercession shape with another shape
I'd like know if exist any example to implement this example in site http://resources.esri.com/help/9.3/arcgisserver/apis/flex/samples/index.html I not find it
