In ArcEditor 10 I have enabled attachments and have attached some photos.  In ArcGIS Online I want to configure the pop up to display the photo.  How do I get the attached table uploaded to ArcGIS Online?  I have read that ArcGIS Online does not support related tables.  I am confused as to what the instructions at http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisonline/help/index.html#//010q0000004m000000 are refering to when it states "Check the box next to Show feature attachments as links if you want to provide hyperlinks to attachments at the bottom of the pop-up window. Attachments are supported as a related table to a feature class in a feature service."

Unfortunately, you can't display image attachments inside the popup window. What you can do, as you found in the doc, is you can check the box when configuring the popup window to display links that represent your attachments (see attached image). When you click on this link in the popup window, the browser will download the attachment to your computer.

We do want to support the ability to view attachments in the popup window. We just haven't done so yet.

Thanks,

Mike

Is it possible to upload attachments to ArcGIS Online with 10.1 release?

No, ArcGIS Desktop 10.1 doesn't support working with attachments on hosted feature services. You need 10.1, service pack 1.

I'm working with 10.1 SP1. I don't see how can publish a FC with attachments to my subscription in AGOL.
It doesn't work also the other way - publishing a hosted feature service, enabling attachments, editing features and attachments, and creating a local copy using ArcGIS Desktop. The attachments do not get copied to my desktop machine.

Yigal

I can't get get it to work, either. I have enabled attachments and have tested in in ArcGIS Desktop 10.1, SP1 But when I attempt to load an attachment in ArcGIS Online, I receive an error: File Type not supported. I am just trying to attach a .jpg. The ultimate goal is to serve this up on an Android device, using the ArcGIS App from Google Play. Any help is appreciated at this point...

Hi Katie,

Did you ever get an answer on this? I am having a similar problem attaching pictures from the Android tablet. I enabled attachments in Desktop 10.1, published the feature service, then using the ArcGIS App on my Andriod tablet I edit a point, click the "Add Attachment" button, take a picture, and then save the edits, but the picture never gets saved. I have also had it spin and spin for an hour with no result.

If you got any response, I would appreciate you sharing. Thanks!

I found this possibility, don't need answer

But a bit strange, it seems that in the Help page of ArcGIS Online (that was mentioned in the 1-st post) were described options, that don't exist.

In the devision "Show attachments" they wrote that it's possible to open attachemant if a layer has it, but it's impossible, only by links in a table. Why they wrote this..

I'm using ArcGIS Online, and I'm trying to show attachments, but I don't see a checkbox to enable attachments in the configure pop-ups window.  Am I missing something?

Thanks,

MS
