Hello,

Please I need your help ! I have published a Buffer Service following the Steps in the Help Manual for ArcGIS 10, and is working so good in any mxd if I add the Buffer Service but when I added it in Silverlight Viewer by including the URL of the service into the Geoprocessing tool, it will run then says Fail !!!

would any ESRI's Engineer or GIS proffesional can help me ?

I do appreciate your help.

Martin.

Martin,

When you configured the geoprocessing tool in SLViewer, you would have noticed two options for featureset input parameter. Did you choose "Interactively" or "By selecting a layer from the map"?

You can also enable Geoprocessing messages in your service  and use debugging tools like fiddler to find the cause of failure.

Hello,
I know this is an old thread but I didn't see any resolution and I am getting this same error.  It tries to buffer then sits and waits for a few seconds then gives me a yellow exclimation mark next to my new buffer layer.

This is what I get in Fiddler.
