We are presently developing a custom web mapping application for the public to view criminal incidents within our county.  In our efforts, we have created several hundred icons in varying colors to display as map points.  I'm not certain where a better spot to offer these to the public would be.  If anyone is aware of a better repository, please let me know.

Included in the attached .zip are icons covering over 100 incident types in eight different colors.  I've also included the Photoshop files in the event your organization needs to create other icons for specific incident types.  We use the colors to differentiate responding agencies.  I hope these are of use to others.

You can see these icons at work on our incident mapping site.  http://gis.co.ottawa.mi.us/ottawa/publicincidentsmapping/

Nice crime map!

You could also post these to ArcGIS Online as a layer package to share it with the community:

Nice map.

I'm curious, are you pulling info from your CAD system or your RMS?

Thanks, Andrew.

The computer aided dispatch and record management systems for the county are integrated.  Incident data comes from the shared files.  We (GIS Department) extract the records from central dispatch at several points throughout the day, run them through a pre-process, geocode and post-process to generate mapped incident points.
