Do you have routes in Roads and Highways that you wanted to delete (instead of retire)? This short five and a half minute video walks you through finding the Delete Routes tool and using it within an edit session in ArcMap. The Delete Routes tool makes it easy to remove routes and their associated calibration points and centerline from an LRS Network. It is a good idea to use this tool in an ArcMap edit session so you can undo any changes. Also remember to always select some routes before using this tool (otherwise all routes are deleted).

Tom,

Thanks for the video!  Three quick questions:

  1. Does the deletion of the route get recorded within a geodatabase history table so as to track edits made to the LRS system or does all trace of the route and any edits across time made in geodatabase history tables also vanish?
  2. Does the tool also take care of any events that might have been linearly referenced to the deleted route (since user does not want the route to ever exist it can be assumed they would not want to keep newly orphaned events within the system)?
  3. Do you know if the tool also takes care of all the administrative tables/edit logs so that any external event tables can also become aware of the deleted route and can react accordingly?

THANKS!
