Can't connect to GPS

All,

I just upgraded to ArcGIS Mobile 3.1 from 10 on my Trimble GeoXH (which has worked just fine) and now the system won't connect to the GPS. I am using GPS Controller 2.6 with NMEA out, ArcGIS Mobile 3.1 attaches to COM2 which is the NMEA port, states it is connected but always reports 'No Fix'. If I click on GPS Status nothing is reported. I have tried using COM3 GNSS and COM4 Corrected as well as Autodetect and nothing.

I performed a factory reset and continue to have the issue. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

K

Hi Kieren,

Which Trimble GeoExplorer XH Series device are you currently using? Trimble GeoXH is available in these models: GeoXH 6000, GeXH 3000 (aka 2008),  GeoXH 2005 and GeoXH 2003. Please review the Trimble Mapping & GIS Product Compatibility List Matrix document to identify compatible versions of software between your field device and GPS Controller software. Visit Trimble.com to confirm your device is running latest Windows Mobile OS upgrades & GPS Firmware updates for your GeoXH device.

Cheers,
Denise

Denise,

Thanks for the response, I ultimately checked off all of the NMEA sentence output options (Trimble GeoExplorer GeoXH) and it started working. I still can't get it to connect directly to the GNSS stream though.

Quick question on another topic, within the code the GpsAveragingCollectionMethod has been marked as obsolete and the GPS Averaging Method has been removed from the application.

How would one navigate within a workflow for GPS Averging in 3.1? If I create these objects the change from 10 seems to be the method requires a geometry instead of a feature, but within our workflow we take the user to the edit attributes screen and then to the GPS Averaging screen in a set of steps.

Thanks,

K
