My app experiences this as well. Almost every time i load the map 4 to 6 of my external services fail to laod. I hit refresh and they all come into the web app, like clockwork.

cool widget, thanks for sharing. question: does the model factor current wind into the model? if not, that's seems as key as the chem type, for example.

Hello, I have a layer that contains 300 sublayers. I am about to begin configuring the popups for all of these layers. The problem is, I am concerned I will have to do all of this popup configuration for every web map I pull this huge layer into. Meaning, I'll have to configure the popups over and over again. Is there a way to store popup configuration with the layer so it holds those popup config settings in any web map I add it to? Thanks!

This is a big issue. when you style a hosted feature layer, at minimum the order in the styling should be what sets the symbol levels..

After reviewing some other input, I would agree on an "Enhanced Layer List" widget. One that supports groupings of layers by tabs or some other clever way.

I would love to see two widgets: A widget that shows GIS data in ur WWROOT folder. So for example, If I drop a folder (with a shapefile, or GBD) into a specific folder, you can access it in the app. Also, a better "Add Data" widget. One that supports the adding of REST endpoints, Shapefiles, and GDB's. (with option to add layer to your layer list)

really wish this was a capability in the viewer for flex. I dont even think it can be done in the JS API either (please correct me if im wrong). THis is something I hear A LOT of people asking for - not sure why you cant do it in arcgis online, or other Esri technologies (outside arcmap of course).

Is it possible to call on arcgis online (or a portal) layers in the config's operational layers? These would be layers that dont have a discoverable REST endpoint. Thanks!

I have a simple flex viewer and I would like the popup to pull the layer name into the popup. There are no fields within the layer than i can leverage and do not own the service so i cant just add one. Can flex pull in the layer name like it can any other field? thanks

I just went through the steps again. Opened an MXD, Added a SHP file to MXD Shared (published) as service (this is when it stores the data in a temporary file, do i need to do something else with the stoprage of data?) Consumed and displayed in my flex viewer Returned to mxd with shapefile. Edited shapefile (changed names of features) Saved changes in editing session. Closed arcmap Went back into my flex application that pulls in the published layer and there was no change at all, feature service shares same old data that i published in steps above. I dont understand how updating your shapefile dynamically updates your map service. I've just never heard of that.

Situation: I have a CSV file that resides on our server and is updated dynamically (from a SharePoint site). I want my flex viewer application to consume this supported layer type every time a user hits the map (CSV loaded in my operational layers). Should be easy right? Nope Problem: I'm not on the regular web (think private cloud) so I can't leverage the esri PortalURL to render this CSV into JSON format. What can I do?

In my experience, when i "publish a webservice that hits the shapefile," all of that data behind the shapefile (in the dbf) is cached. In other words, if I publish a shapefile as a service and consume that with my flex viewer, the data behind the shapefile is merely stored with i share/publish. So if I go into arcmap and update that shapefile and save it, nothing changes to the actual rest service im pulling into the viewer. The service isnt automatically updated. I need to share (republish) that shapefile to overwrite the current service. You must know how to do something i do not...
