Which SDK do I use to compile a C# project (ArcGIS Extension programmed using Visual Studio 2013) to install under ArcGIS 10.5. The project was previously compiled for ArcGIS 10.3. What additional guides will I need to refer to to get this working?

It is a hillshade, but as a custom raster function it is pre-populated with parameters that we use all the time. My P drive is a usb hard drive permanently connected to my machine. I consider it local because it is not a network drive (with windows having to resolve a unc path). I'll see how I go recreating the error with everything on a built-in drive (c or d) and repost then. So far it has behaved for a couple of sessions.

These are the geoprocessing options that I found in my project: ...and these are my project settings (no spaces in paths): I'm not using any tools in ArcToolbox in the project, although I am using some geoprocessing tools, but don't see anything in the environments of those that would affect saving the project. The properties of the sunshade raster function I am using are interesting, they state the as the input layer as the data source: ...this suggests it is generating the sunshade on-the-fly and not creating or storing a temporary layer at all? As far as I can tell, everything is stored locally, within the ArcGISPro project, or within a folder structure at the same level as the Home Folder.

Hi Dan, Yes, in my situation all data in the project is on the local computer. Since removing the raster functions enabled the project to save, I am thinking it may have something to do with that, but since I am not sure exactly how raster functions work in ArcGIS Pro, (where temporary raster function files are stored, if at all) I'm at a loss to troubleshoot further. Following on from my previous comment, I checked all of the file paths and have no spaces to or within the project. I re-added some rasters and continued to save the project each time I generated a hillshade using the raster functions tab. It worked fine. I then exported a table and when I tried to save the project, it failed. I removed the hillshade functions and the project saved. This is an odd situation, since it allowed me to save immediately after creating the hillshade functions but failed after a while - something might be happening to lock the filespace where hillshade and other faster functions are being saved (?), which makes a subsequent save fail. It would be good to know where the results of functions are stored (or if they are saved at all). I thought in 10.3 they were saved to a default geodatabase on the client. Laz

When I add raster layers to my project (sourced from the local drive) and create raster functions, I get this error. After removing the raster layers and the related functions, the project saves again. I still haven't figured out if it is the raster layers or the functions that are preventing the project from saving. If I get a chance to test it further and can provide a definitive answer, I'll re-post. In the meantime, this may help.

Hi, I can confirm the same issue - ArcGIS 10.1 (no service pack)/Windows 7 Enterprise Service Pack 1. I have a network postscript plotter as my default printer. It doesn't matter which of my network printers I set as the default, the issue occurs exactly as described by Sandy, and I use the same work-around. Regards, Laz
